Angela Thomas, CWG, at the ALCA national board meeting in Arizona
Everyday there are new developments and uncertainties and what our future will look like is still unclear. We want to assure you the Caring with Grace team is always here and able to help when you have needs, even in person, if necessary. Since March 13th, our team has diligently been protecting ourselves with masks and gloves whenever we need to be out and about. “We are truly fortunate we do not know of anyone we work with that has contracted the virus,” states Angela Thomas, RN and CEO of Caring with Grace. “We also know wearing masks will be the new normal for all of us. We will continue to employ the utmost precautions to keep you and ourselves safe.”
In the last three weeks Caring with Grace has been actively advocating for the critical nature of PPE, especially masks, for all staff in senior living communities. Angela Thomas has been contacting local lawmakers and senior facility leadership to ensure the safety of our seniors. Caring with Grace has handed out hundreds of PPE supplies during this time. Angela is also in weekly communication with our national organization, the Aging Life Care Association. In January she was honored to join the ALCA national board in Phoenix as a director where she also serves on the board’s public policy committee. This is the 35th anniversary year of our organization. The theme selected for this year is "Better Together." Given the events of the last two months it could not be truer. ALCA has provided many Zoom opportunities for care managers from across the country to learn from each other about how to continue serving our clients and families and to support one another. So truly "better together" means so much more these days.
The month of May is usually a busy time for our organization. May is Aging Life Care month. If you are a client or family member you should have received a letter from Caring with Grace updating you on our role with helping your family take care of your loved one in the future. CWG will be sending out more communication to help our families and our partners cope with the impact of the Coronavirus on the population we serve through emails and social media.
Please know that we are here to help in any way that we can and will continue to serve our clients and their families during this challenging time. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if we can be of service.
